Studio Art
Jesuit High School offers studio art classes to its students, emphasizing exploration, growth and self expression. An annual exhibition showcases artworks by talented students who draw and paint using various mediums including charcoal, oil and pastels. A number of Jesuit students have exhibited their works locally, while others have received prizes from art competitions.
Jesuit ChalksItUp!
The Jesuit Art Club participated in their first ChalkItUp festival. The ChalkItUp festival is an annual festival that takes over Fremont Park in downtown Sacramento and provides a creative space for artists with sponsored sidewalk squares from local businesses. All proceeds from the festival go back into the local art community.

Please join us for Jesuit High School’s 2024 Cannonball Collection: A Student Art Exhibition, which will take place on April 30th in the vestibule of the Phelan Chapel of the North American Martyrs. Visual Arts students entered original pieces for local artist judges, Mustafa Shaheen and Michelle Dahl, to consider. The show itself has been curated by the judges to reflect the best pieces submitted. The show begins at 5:30pm, and the winners will be announced at 6:30pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
Crocker Art Museum Student Show
Outstanding Self-Portrait Submissions by Jesuit into Local Museum Exhibit Win Awards and Accolades
Once again Jesuit High School was very well represented at the Crocker Art Museum High School Self-Portrait Show.
Ed Novinsky ’72, artist and Jesuit Studio Art instructor said, “Oscar Econome ’19 entered the strongest painting a student could paint!”
Jack Minor ’20 took an Honorable Mention for his untitled pen and ink.
And, Parker Sima ’19 won “Best in Show” with Off the Wall a spray paint creation.
