Shelter-in Spring Sees Music Blossom in New Ways
There’s something thoroughly Ignatian about finding God in music. St. Ignatius’s spiritual approach strives to touch the heart directly, and that is what music does, too. Music is literally beyond words. It is feeling and emotion that unifies the listener. During the stay-at-home requirements of spring, the talented young men of our Visual and Performing Arts programs found comfort in continuing to make music. Unable to attend festivals or host traditional concerts—and with travel abroad canceled for this summer—they came together through at-home recordings. Their voices and playing were a gift during the Easter Season to the Jesuit community in short one-song ‘video concerts.’ Enjoy.
