Joey Elftmann ‘00 Joins Jesuit High School Volleyball as Head Coach

Jesuit High School Sacramento is proud to announce that Associate Dean of Students Joey Elftmann ‘00 has been appointed as the new head coach of Jesuit’s volleyball program for the coming season. An accomplished alum and former player, Elftmann has over 15 years of coaching experience, including stints at Sacramento State, UC Davis, and the University of San Francisco. He brings with him multiple national championships and was twice named the Northern California Collegiate Volleyball League Coach of the Year. 

“Jesuit is truly one of the premier destinations for elite-level volleyball in the region, and I’m incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to build upon the existing legacy of hard work and success,” Elftmann said. “I look forward to partnering with the Jesuit volleyball community to lead our student-athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the court.”

Elftmann’s extensive coaching career includes Sacramento State’s D1 varsity volleyball program, where he served as a volunteer assistant. His experience also spans roles as head coach of the University of San Francisco women’s club volleyball team, where he led the team to two national championships and a 104-15 record over three seasons. 

As a player, Elftmann was named to the Club D1 All American team in 2003 while competing for the UC Davis’ men’s club volleyball program, achieving top finishes at nationals and earning a degree in communications. He later obtained a master’s degree in Kinesiology – sport performance from Sacramento State.

With his extensive background and deep ties to the school, Jesuit High School welcomes Elftmann with great anticipation and confidence in his ability to guide the Marauders to continued success.
