Fall 2023 Stadium Lighting Update

News

Jesuit High School is continuing through the County of Sacramento planning process for a Use Permit Amendment to install permanent state-of-the-art lights in Marauder Stadium.

On October 11, the project was on the agenda for the Carmichael/Old Foothill Farms Community Planning Advisory Council (CPAC) Meeting. The County presented a basic overview of the project, public comment was heard, and Jesuit fielded questions from the council members. A motion was made and seconded for the CPAC to recommend approval of the project to the Planning Commission. The primary purpose of the CPAC is to gather community responses to projects and make a recommendation – they do not vote for final approval.

NEXT STEPS

  • Jesuit High School received notice from the County of Sacramento that the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) will be on the Planning Commission’s agenda on Monday, October 23, 2023. The intent of this procedural meeting is to comment on the draft EIR and close the public comment window, which has been open since it was released by the County on September 15, 2023, nearly 45 days ago. There is no action being requested at this time.
  • Jesuit anticipates that the lighting proposal will be presented at a hearing before the Planning Commission in early 2024, where an action to approve or deny may occur.
  • Jesuit invites our supporters to follow along on our website and on the County project page. Additional informational meetings for our community and neighbors will be held before the holidays.
