Info on Social Media Rumored Threats

News

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

Good morning Jesuit High School Sacramento community

We wanted to share information with you regarding a safety concern brought to our attention by local law enforcement. A general threat of school violence has been spreading on social media across the nation. In addition to several other states, it mentions the Sacramento, California region. Jesuit has not been named in any of these threats, but we want to share the information out of an abundance of caution.

All Jesuit school activities will continue as normal today, Friday, September 13, 2024.  Our Campus Safety Team and the Dean’s Office are closely monitoring the situation and are in contact with law enforcement. We will update you if we receive any additional information and encourage you or your student to immediately report any safety concerns you become aware of to the Dean’s Office or any faculty or staff.

Due to our proximity within the San Juan Unified School District, we want to share that Rio Americano was on the unsubstantiated list of named schools posted to social media—although the Rio administration has stated that no direct or specific threat has been made to Rio.
