On Monday, Sept 23, 2024, Jesuit High School Sacramento’s Club Day will give students an opportunity to discover and sign up for the various clubs offered at Jesuit.

Student Activities Director Mr. Peter Ferrari encourages students to make the most of Club Day by engaging in as many activities as possible.

“My recommendation is that students join four or five clubs on Club Day. That doesn’t mean they have to stay in those four or five clubs,” Mr. Ferrari said. “They should go to the first meeting for each club and then decide which ones are the most active or interesting. Ultimately, they can stick with one or two clubs that they find most engaging.”

In addition to all the activities it provides, Club Day fosters a sense of community among students by presenting a platform for students with similar passions to connect and build relationships with one another.

“Clubs just give students an opportunity to belong and to meet people with similar interests and similar talents,” Mr. Ferrari said. “Everybody here has so many differences. Everybody here is so unique, but there are so many shared interests and shared talents and so clubs providing an opportunity for students to come together around those interests and talents is a really cool thing.”

Avery Senger ’26 sees Club Day as a way for students to get out of their comfort zone, and meet new people.

“Joining clubs is a really good thing just because it really gets you out of your shell, especially if you’re scared or you don’t really know anybody,” Avery Senger said. “Like for me, I didn’t really know anybody coming to this school, so joining a club was amazing because I got to know so many people who were essentially perfect friends.”

Julian Santiago ’26 believes that Club Day is a wonderful opportunity for students to try new things.

“Students should definitely join clubs, even if you don’t think that your interests align with them, because you could make tons of new friends, and you could honestly find things that you thought you wouldn’t like,” Julian said.

Club Day is an amazing way for Jesuit students to find new interests, and connect with others who have similar passions. Be sure to come to the Senior Quad at lunch and make the most of this great opportunity!
