Marauders in France
In the summer of 2026, Jesuit High School Sacramento will be hosting an intercultural experience traveling across France, exploring Paris and other iconic French cities and landmarks. The program is organized by French teacher Ms. Leslie Willson.
The itinerary is professionally curated by the American Council for International Study, a travel organization. Ms. Wilson has collaborated with them in the past and believes they are a reliable option.
“This is the fourth student trip I’ve taken with them,” Ms. Willson said, “They’re a wonderful company – part of the proof is that I have repeat travelers.”
French and Spanish teacher Ms. Kristen Quillen attests to the quality of the trips.
“I’ve been on a total of three European student tours so far with Jesuit,” Ms. Quillen said, “A highlight was seeing the city of Nice.”
As of writing this article, the per-student cost of the trip is $5,775. The price is adjusted every 90 days which may (or may not) result in a slight increase., but will stay at the price listed when you make the initial deposit. Students must apply by Saturday, Feb. 1 to attend at the lowest possible cost.
“That price includes all transportation, including round trip airfare from Sacramento, all transportation within the country, all entries to anything we visit,” Ms. Willson said. “It includes dinners and breakfast. The only thing it doesn’t include is lunch and souvenirs.”
The itinerary travels all across France, exploring the beautiful sights of the vibrant cities and peaceful countryside.
“We will go to Paris, where we will spend a couple of days,” Ms. Willson said. “We will visit Versailles, the Cathedral of Chartres, continue to the Loire Valley, where we will spend a couple of nights and we will visit three Chateaus. We will visit Mont Saint-Michel, which is at the border of Normandy and Brittany, and we will stay overnight in Saint-Malo. From there, we will continue along Normandy beach to visit the D-Day beaches before we return back to Paris.”
Ms. Quillen hopes the trip will be inspiring to the travelers.
“My sincerest wish is that it just ignites that excitement that makes each student want to travel again someday, either to the same place or a different country,” Ms. Willson said.
The trip is open to all Jesuit students and parents, even those not enrolled in the French program. Please contact Ms. Willson at willsonl@faculty.jhs.net if you’d like to know more.
