See what’s Poppin’ in the Black Box Theatre
On Friday, March 7, Jesuit High School Sacramento’s Drama program, along with students from Saint Francis High School, Christian Brothers High School, Rio Americano High School, and Country Day High School will present Cameron Mackintosh and Disney’s “Mary Poppins.” This musical is the largest production Jesuit Drama has brought to stage in recent years, so the performance will be a night to remember.
George Srabian ’25 is excited for this performance, as he and the rest of the team have put in many hours to make this musical as special as possible.
“This is the biggest show that I’ve ever been a part of,” George said. “So it really feels like a fun extravaganza and a great send-off to my senior year. Getting to do these shows with these people and to see something that you’ve been putting so much time into for three hours a day and five days a week is such a magical experience. That feeling of being on stage with the people who you care about the most is so special and that’s why I love doing musicals.”
Brady McMains ’26 urges everyone at Jesuit to attend because of the musical’s refreshing take on a classic tale.
“It’s a really cool way of presenting a really popular show,” Brady said. “We do things so differently in the Black Box that we make everything new and exciting. Everytime you see the show there’s something new that you’re going to get out of it.”
