Track team off to the races
The beginning of March brings the beginning of the track season, and this year’s track team, led by Head Coach Mike Rosales, is out to achieve their goals.
“Our goals for this season are crystal clear: we’re here to win,” Coach Rosales said. “We’ve set our sights on taking the league title and bringing home the section championship.”
To reach these goals the team will have to rely on what they are great at. Sprinter Jacob Norman ’26 believes the group has built a strong community.
“We are really good at being together and coming out to support each other’s races, not just running ours and going home,” Jacob said.
Though the team is confident about their strengths, they’re also aware of what they need to improve on.
“[We need to work on] some of the little stuff like outside of running,” said Kyle Jackary ’26. “Some lifestyle changes – make sure we are eating well, sleeping well, that kind of stuff.”
The team is full of great talent, but there is one component that will help them reach their full potential this season: fantastic coaching.
“We’ve got one of the best groups of coaches in the state, and that’s going to be a game-changer for us,” Coach Rosales said.
The track season begins on March 5. Show up and support this fantastic group of student athletes as they try to reach new heights.
