Financial Aid FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions about Getting Financial Help for Tuition
How do I apply for Financial Aid?
Jesuit High School contracts with Fast Automatic Cash Transfer System (FACTS) to process all financial aid applications (https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/4BC3P). The application fee for the upcoming school year is $37. The FACTS deadline is January 5, 2025.
How is the Financial Aid decision made?
Financial Aid is available to students with a demonstrated financial need and has no bearing on admission. We base Financial Aid awards on need, not on merit.
We consider many factors, such as a family’s income, assets, number of family members in the household, and unusual expenses or circumstances. FACTS provides the Financial Aid Committee with individualized reviews of the data based on information the family provides; Jesuit then works with the family to determine the amount of demonstrated need and the family’s expected contribution. Please note that each time a document is submitted the application goes back into a two-week audit process with FACTS.
What documents will I need?
Once families have submitted their application they will be required to submit the necessary supporting documentation in order to verify the application. What documents are required varies by family, as each family’s financial situation and institution supporting documents are different. The documents required for their specific application are listed online when they view their application. The upload and processing status of each document will also display.
What happens once the application and documents are submitted?
FACTS will process the corresponding documents. Allow for approximately two weeks for FACTS to process each document once it is uploaded. If additional documents are needed, an email will be sent from FACTS.
An incomplete application will result in processing delays and inability to make an appropriate award.
We already completed an application for the prior year, do we need to complete a new one each year?
Yes. A new application is required each school year.
Our family has multiple children attending Jesuit and St. Francis. Do I have to complete an application for each student?
No. You would just need to add a second school or student to your existing application. You can do this by logging into your FACTS account and clicking View Form to make the changes/updates to your school/student information
Am I able to make updates to my application questions if something changes?
Yes, you will be able to log in and make updates to your application if needed. Typically this need would be due to a typo on your data, or due to a change in your financial situation, i.e. job loss, etc.
When will we be informed of the Financial Aid decision?
For incoming freshman applicants and returning families who have been admitted and completed the process in a timely manner, the financial aid decision letters will be sent electronically in February 2025.
The due date is here and I don’t have a tax return filed…what do I do?
Complete the application online (https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/4BC3P). Upload your most recent Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ (as filed with the IRS, with all schedules), W-2, 1099/1099R or 1098 for any wage-earning adult residing with the applicant(s), along with most recent pay statements.
We are divorced or separated, how do I/we apply for Financial Aid?
For separated or divorced families, each separate household must apply for aid. Custody documents will be requested for divorced or separated families.
What if I missed the FACTS deadline?
Meeting the deadline is critical. We have a limited amount of funding available. Applicants who file a completed application by the deadline get priority consideration. Late applicants will be considered after the initial applications are processed.
