Water Polo

The water polo team had a promising season with a mix of strong wins and close matches. The team finished 2nd in the St Francis Invite early in the season. In a close-scoring game during the Jesuit Classic tournament, the Mauraders beat Murrieta Valley. They have also shown resilience in high-stakes games, such as a double-overtime win against Granite Bay earlier in the season. However, despite a win against Davis early in October, they’ve faced some tough losses against strong teams like Davis High School and Rocklin High School. The team is advancing to the Section Finals ranked as the No. 4 seed. During the first round, the Marauders will face James C. Enochs High School at American River College this Wednesday.

Football

Honorable performances have marked the football season but the team has seen mixed results in their new competition in the Sierra Foothill League, the toughest league in Northern California. The team holds a 6-4 overall record and a 3-4 league record. The Marauders started the season strong with notable wins, including a decisive 56-7 victory over Rio Americano, a commanding 46-7 win against Bellarmine, and a victory in the annual Holy Bowl against Christian Brothers, winning 7-0. As the season progressed, Jesuit faced challenges in the league, including tough losses to Folsom and Rocklin. As they wrap up the regular season, they have been seeded No. 6 in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Football Playoffs. The Marauders will host the Lodi Flames on Nov. 8.

Cross Country

The cross-country team is having a stellar season, standing out as one of the strongest teams in the school’s history. Their success began early, with victories in local competitions and a standout performance at the Nike Portland XC Invitational, where they bested teams from across the western U.S. by a significant margin. At that event, six of Jesuit’s seven runners completed the 5K in under 16 minutes, demonstrating the squad’s exceptional skill and cohesion. The team has placed 1st in Oakmont Invitational, Josh Ruff Invitational, SFL League Meet #1, De La Salle Invitational, Nike Portland Invitational, Grizzly 3200 Meter, Flat SAC Invitational, and SFL League Championship. The team is looking forward to the Sac-Joaquin Sub-Section Meet on Nov. 9.
