Jesuit High School, Sacramento is currently looking to fill a coaching position as Assistant Lacrosse Coach. This is a seasonal & stipend position.

Position Summary

The Varsity Assistant Lacrosse Coach – Defensive Coordinator will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the lacrosse program at the varsity level.. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Player Development with a Focus on Defense:

• Assist in conducting practices, including drills, skill instruction, and game situational development, especially from the defensive side.
• Provide individual and group instruction to players on fundamentals, in both individual play and team play
• Help develop and implement individual player development plans as directed by the Head Coach
• Assist the Head Coach in implementing the team’s defensive fundamentals and strategies

Game Management:

• Assist in game preparation, including scouting opponents and developing game plans.
• Assist during games as directed by the Head Coach with a focus on defensive team play, defensive individual play, and focus on opponent offensive threats
• Assist in post-game analysis and player feedback.

Team Management:

• Assist in team meetings, film sessions, and other team-building activities as directed by the Head Coach.
• Promote a positive and inclusive team environment.

Other:

• Represent the Jesuit Lacrosse Program positively within the school/community.
• Adhere to all the following entity rules, regulations, and requirements:
  • Jesuit High School
  • Sierra Foothill League
  • Sac-Joaquin Section
  • CIF State

Minimum Qualifications

• Passion for lacrosse and a strong understanding of the game.
• Lacrosse playing experience at the high school or collegiate level
• Coaching experience at the high school, club, or youth level is preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with high school student-athletes
• Strong work ethic and a commitment to player development
• Level of Commitment: Daily practices: 5 PM-7 PM, League games times are 5:30 PM for JV, and 7:15 PM for Varsity on weekdays. Occasional Saturday games are scheduled. Non-League games at the opponent’s location may be scheduled requiring travel and is required of this position’s attendance
