Fourteen years ago, Matt Johnson was a lot like many
22-year-olds.
He was trying to balance school and a full-time job. Matt was
dating who he thought was the love of his life while weaving his
many friends into a busy, busy life.
Weekends were a chance to kick back … or cut loose.
But Johnson’s hard-driving lifestyle was costing him. He blew it
at Sacramento State and dropped out. His 45-hour-a-week job as a
warehouse foreman was taking a toll on his body. Friends were
still there, but his girlfriend left him.
Then one day it all changed — some would say for the worse. Matt
might argue for the better.
Regardless of one’s take, Matt Johnson almost died.
