On a rainy and windy Monday afternoon Jesuit hosted Pleasant Grove, a team without any losses. It was anticipated to be a close game, and it was that, but Jesuit found a subtle advantage early on that put them on the high ground the rest of the game. The home team had most of the possession and was formulating handfuls of offensive plays throughout almost the entire first half, and on the defense Jesuit made punctual and quick stops. In the 39th minute, right before the end of the first half, Julian Churchill unexpectedly hit a corner kick that was low and driven fast across the backside of the box, and a wide open Christian Honig put the ball in the back of the net.

Half Jesuit 1-0 Pleasant Grove

The second half continued in similar fashion, but there was even better offense from both teams, and Jesuit amped up their defensive and midfield capabilities. It remained scoreless and contested for a while until in the 78th minute, Luke Bone got the ball alone a little ways outside the box and had a go at it. It proved to be a good one, easily sliding across the ground into the left lower corner of the goal. The game ended 2-0 to Jesuit. Jesuit takes on Franklin away on Wednesday and hosts Cosumnes Oaks on Friday.
