Feast of the Immaculate Conception
An optional celebration for students and families after school in the Chapel
Dress attire is not required for students on this day.
This feast day celebrates and honors Mary, whose sinless nature and unique possession of grace gave her everything she needed to be the mother of God. At Mass, we thank God for the inspiring role of Mary and for the way she wholly says “yes” in responding to God’s call to give birth to the Messiah, Jesus Christ. She is an example of how we might know God’s love more completely and respond wholeheartedly despite not having all the answers on how our response might play out in the future. We are reminded that God gives each person the gifts that they need to respond to His call to love and serve those around us, even if we are uncertain or have doubts at times. Jesuit High School is offering the option for students and their family members to attend Mass to celebrate this feast day on December 9 beginning at 3:15 pm in the Chapel of the North American Martyrs.
