Sophomores at Jesuit High School attend a one-day retreat that encourages each student to intentionally discern “The person God is calling me to be” and write a personal mission statement for their life. Members of the Jesuit Senior Retreat Team accompany Sophomores in their discernment through sharing testimonies on their own sense of mission and facilitating small group discussions that invite conversations on personal values, passions, goals, purpose, and the role that faith plays in understanding our unique calling. Students come away from the retreat with a challenge to live out their personal mission statement through working to strengthen the virtues that empower them to better love and serve God. On the day of their retreat, students depart Jesuit High School for Christ the King Retreat Center in Citrus Heights at 8:20 am and return to Jesuit High School on the same day by 3:00 pm. Students will be given their retreat date assignment in their theology class.
