Alumni Spirit Shines

On Saturday, Sept. 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Jesuit High School Sacramento will be hosting their first of many Alumni & Family Monthly Masses at the Phelan Chapel of the North American Martyrs. While the mass is for alumni, it is not exclusive and can be attended by anyone.

Fr. Harris believes that these masses can help people rekindle their connection with Jesuit.

“The underlying message is if you felt a connection through Jesuit High School in a way that was helpful for you in your personal and spiritual life, come back once a month and have your battery recharged again,” Fr. Harris said. “It’s an opportunity to tap back into a resource that they may have found helpful when they were here.”

Fr. Harris feels that the Alumni & Family Monthly Mass provides benefits to everyone who attends it.

“It provides them with a religious experience that they can incorporate into their own lives, and it can put them back in touch with the Jesuit community,” Fr. Harris said. “For alumni, that’s the brotherhood. For parents, it’s all the connections, social and otherwise, that they made while they were parents, while their kids were going here.”

All are welcome to attend the first Alumni & Family Monthly Mass, and spend their Sunday evening reconnecting or deepening their connection with God and Jesuit High School.
