Jesuit football pulls off a hard earned win against Sheldon
On Saturday, Jesuit High School Sacramento varsity football team defeated the Sheldon High School Huskies at home 35 to 21. It was a back and forth game, but in the end, Jesuit was able to pull out a hard earned win against a tough opponent.
Jesuit defeats rival Christian Brothers at 51st Holy Bowl
On Saturday, Sept. 10, during the 51st annual Holy Bowl, Jesuit High School Sacramento’s varsity football team defeated cross-town rival Christian Brothers High School 21-7.
Jesuit quickly asserted themselves late in the first quarter with a touchdown to start off the scoring. By the fourth quarter, the Marauders were firmly in the lead.
Jesuit prepares for an exciting Holy Bowl
The 53rd annual Holy Bowl is this Saturday, Sept. 10, at Sacramento City College’s Hughes Stadium. After last year’s lopsided 44-0 victory against Christian Brothers High School, Jesuit High School Sacramento is ready for another great game.
Jesuit’s water polo team is confident heading into the season
The Jesuit High School Sacramento varsity water polo team starts its season on Sept. 3, 2022, with a round robin tournament in San Jose, California. With most of their top players returning, the team is confident they can make a deeper playoff run and get over the hump to win this year’s Section title.

game of the season was Friday, Aug. 26 in Reno, Nevada against
Bishop Manogue High School.
Jesuit’s Varsity Football Team sees brotherhood as the path to greatness
In the 2021-2022 season, the Jesuit High School, Sacramento Varsity Football Team had six wins and zero losses in the Delta League, including a 44-0 victory versus Christian Brothers High School in the Holy Bowl. Including non-league games, the team ended the season with a 10-2 record. They lost only to Folsom High School, last year’s Northern California football champions. This year’s varsity team’s first game will be against Bishop Manogue High School on Friday, Aug. 26, in Reno, Nevada.

Opinion: ‘Maid’ is a heartwarming series with wonderful writing
On Oct. 1, 2021, Netflix released the 27th Annual Critics Choice
Nominee series “Maid.” This emotional series is based off of the
true story memoir, “Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will
to Survive” by Stephanie Land in 2019. The show features Margaret
Qualley, Nick Robinson, Andie MacDowell, Raymond Ablack, Rylea
Nevaeh Whittet, Anika Noni Rose, and more.
Opinion: ‘Don’t Look Up’ serves up supreme satire
“Don’t Look Up” was released on Dec. 5, 2021 on Netflix and in
theaters. The film follows Leonardo Dicaprio as Dr. Randall
Mindy, a socially anxious, good hearted astronomy professor, and
Jennifer Lawrence as doctoral candidate Kate Dibiasky.
Despite an inconsistent season, Jesuit basketball looks hopefully towards the future
On Friday Feb. 18, 2022, the Jesuit High School Sacramento
varsity basketball team had their first game of the CIF D2
Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs against Vacaville High School, which
they won 64-52. They then played Elk Grove High School losing
60-51, and thus, ending their season.
Jesuit golf team is on par to tee off the 2022 season
Golf is a staple of the Jesuit athletic community, and with this
year’s season teed up, the team is ready to drive, with their
first competition being the De La Salle tournament at Diablo
Country Club today, March 7.

“Scream” was released on Jan. 14, 2022 and was directed by Matt
Bettelini-Oplin and Tyler Gillet. The film stars Jenna Ortega,
Mellissa Barea, Dylan Minnete, Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott,
Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers, and David Arquette as Dewy

Jesuit basketball team suffers three losses as playoffs approach
From Jan. 14 to Jan. 21, the Jesuit High School Sacramento
varsity basketball team played four games. They went 1-3 during
this stretch changing their record from 6-7 to 7-10.
Jesuit Swim team’s first real season in two years
The Jesuit High School Sacramento swimming season is about to
begin on March 2, 2022. The swimming team has gone two years
without the opportunity to compete at a high level due to
COVID-19, and they’re hoping to make a big splash this
season.
Jesuit Basketball team ready to secure victory in playoff run
From Feb. 2 to Feb. 11, Jesuit High School Sacramento’s varsity basketball team played five games. They went 3-2 over this span to close out the regular season with a record of 13-13.

The manga “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” has recently released its
sixth part “JoJo Stone Ocean” on Netflix. JoJo’s anime adaptation
is being handled by David Productions, an anime production
company which has been in charge of the adaptation since

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” and was
released in the United States on Dec. 17, 2021. The film was

Jesuit basketball on a three game winning streak
The Jesuit High School Sacramento varsity basketball team played
a string of three games from Jan. 26 to Jan. 29. The Marauders
won every game during this span creating a three-game win streak
that raised their record to 10-11.
Garrett McGriff Commits to The United States Military Academy at West Point
Varsity Football player Garrett McGriff ’22 of Jesuit High School
Sacramento just finished a great season leading his team to the
playoffs and boasting impressive individual statistics. His
excellent season as a running back and safety has proved that he
is a great prospect for high-level Division 1 schools. Today, his
efforts culminated in his commitment to The United States
Military Academy at West Point where Garrett will continue to
pursue his dreams.

One of Netflix’s Original limited series, “The Queen’s Gambit,”
was first released on Netflix on Oct. 23, 2020. This captivating
show directed by Scott Frank and starring Anya Taylor-Joy has won
11 Grammys and is critically acclaimed among many.
