Jesuit Cross Country Secures Historic 10th State Championship

President's Letter

The Jesuit High School Cross Country team has made history, claiming their 10th State Championship—the most ever by any school in California! This extraordinary achievement is a testament to the talent, determination, and hard work of the entire team, from the top 7 runners who competed at the State meet to the entire roster and coaching staff.

The Marauders’ performance at the CIF State Championships was nothing short of spectacular. Leading the charge, Drake Hoferer ’26 completed the challenging 5-kilometer course in 15:04.4, earning an impressive seventh place. Close behind, Isaac Abbott ’26 and Kyle Jakary ’26 claimed 10th and 11th places, clocking 15:04.6 and 15:05.2, respectively. Rounding out the top finishers, Matthew Ogilvie ’27 crossed the line in 15th place with a time of 15:16.6. Together, these remarkable performances propelled Jesuit to a record-breaking team time of 76:30, smashing their own Sac-Joaquin Section record.

Jesuit Cross Country continues to set the standard for high school running in California. Congratulations to the Marauders for cementing their legacy as the most successful cross country program in the state’s history!
