Staying Connected – June 15
Dear Parents, Students, Faculty, and Staff:
We hope this finds all of you enjoying your summer! As today has been highly anticipated to hear details on how our state reopening will proceed, we want to provide you with a quick look at how this will affect schools. Here is a brief overview from our Safe Return Task Force:
Does anything change at Jesuit High School on June 15?
California has moved forward with fully reopening the economy today, June 15, and has eased the restrictions for many industries that have been in place during COVID. However, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has stated that “school masking guidance remains in place and masks are required. Going forward, CDPH will continue to update and provide guidance around youth settings.”
The JHS face mask requirements and other safety mitigation measures will remain in place for all of our summer 2021 programs.
We anticipate that CDPH will be issuing directives for schools for the 2021-2022 school year by July which we will share with our Jesuit families as soon as we know more.
As a reminder, the JHS Mask Policy for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year, which includes summer classes, programs, and camps is as follows:
- All students and staff must continue to wear a face mask inside school buildings regardless of vaccination status unless working alone.
- All students must continue to wear a face mask when outside on campus unless actively engaged in sports or strenuous activities.
- If masks are removed during outside activities, social distancing should be maintained as much as possible.
We will provide further updates as they affect the school setting when they become available.
