Volunteering is vital to the success of Jesuit High School and builds a strong sense of community within our families. All families are required to volunteer a total of 25 hours in support of school events or activities during the school year. This can include fundraising events, athletics, Loyola Guild & Booster events, and many other important organizations throughout campus.
Summer reading assignments are listed here. See the assignments by grade
As part of our curriculum at Jesuit High School, Freshman-Seniors are required to engage in service each year. We encourage service to be incorporated into each student’s everyday life.
Rising Sophomores and Juniors can work towards fulfilling their year-long service requirement during the summer preceding the year in question. Students should follow all guidelines explained during the orientations they received in May.
Freshmen complete service through a service-learning project in the context of their Theology 1 class.
Internship placements for rising Seniors were finalized and several members of the Class of 2023 will spend the summer serving in positions with our very own Jesuit High School alumni, current parents, and alumni parents, working in several industries including medicine, real estate, construction management, technology, and agribusiness. Congratulations to all of the rising seniors for giving yourself a competitive edge and gaining real-world professional experiences.
Our annual Parent Survival Skills 101 event is on Thursday evening, July 11, in the Welcome Center. This presentation is an opportunity for parents/guardians to have questions answered with regard to technology, textbooks, dress code, and more. No RSVP is needed.
“So helpful! I left this event feeling like I had the inside scoop …I was no longer overwhelmed by this big transition to high school.”
This event is not mandatory, and while targeted to our new families, any current family is welcome to attend if they wish.
Students will be taking school ID photos. Please report on time, be neatly groomed and wear standard dress code attire. (Wear a JHS collared shirt and chino/khaki pants or shorts.)
Direct Link to order photos will be shared
Parents, please join us for the Parent Welcome! After welcome and announcements, you are invited to remain for a short parent/guardian reception hosted by the Loyola Guild.
The freshmen are accompanied by their Big Brothers throughout Orientation. Their Big Brother accompanies them through the rotations to ensure they get to the correct locations. They enjoy lunch and end the day touring campus.
