Dean’s Office: Campus Safety Check
Proactive, routine sweeps with trained search dogs

On Tuesday, January 14, we held a routine campus safety check. These safety checks are completed in conjunction with our partners from K9 Proactive along with their trained search dogs and consist of a sweep of classrooms, locker rooms, offices, and the parking lot. The K9 Proactive dogs are trained to detect explosives, alcohol, gunpowder, prescription drugs that can be abused, illicit drugs, and other substances that are banned from school property.

Annual Blood Drive
hosted by Student Council

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. You have a chance to give blood, and every blood donation can help up to three people. We’ve been hosting this annual Blood Drive since 1985!

Join us at the JHS Blood Drive on Wednesday, January 22 from 8:30am -12:45pm. You will receive a free t-shirt and there will be snacks for all participants! Our schoolwide goal is to have 33-49 units of blood donated. Adults on campus are also welcome to sign up! To sign up, click on the link, and return your waiver to the Dean’s Office. Appointments are recommended, and walk-ins will be accommodated if space allows. Priority will be given to student donors, but appointments will be opened up to parents.

All students must have a parent/guardian fill out this signed consent form.

Students, faculty, and staff will be gathering to celebrate the Mass for the New Year at 10:45 am on Friday, Jan. 24 in the Barry Gym. Mass will be celebrated by the Most Reverend Bishop Rey Bersabal, auxiliary bishop for the Sacramento Diocese. Students are required to be in dress attire for this all-school liturgy. Parents, family, and alumni are welcome to attend mass.

Practice ACT
JHS Juniors register now for the online exam and score report!

Do not come to campus for this online test. This practice test is only for Jesuit students. Sophomores interested in taking the Practice SAT and/or the Practice ACT are asked to check in with their counselor before registering.

Juniors are encouraged to take the Practice ACT and SAT prior to the real SAT this spring. Jesuit High School will be collaborating with Revolution Prep for the upcoming practice ACT and SAT exams. Every Revolution Prep practice exam comes with a free 30-minute score report review to assess specific strengths and areas of improvement. We highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity. A member of their advising team will help you understand your score report and develop a custom plan to prepare for the official exam.

California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is an honors organization that recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.

Fall Semester members must reapply. Membership has academic qualifications – see the application for details. A grade report must be submitted with the application. Drop off applications in the Front Office or GP206. Email any questions to Mrs. Brown at judi.brown@jesuithighschool.org.

Attention Senior Parents! Diploma Request Forms in the Mail

Senior Parents: Diploma Request Forms should have been received in the mail. This form must be returned indicating the name you wish to be printed on your son’s diploma. Please check your son’s name for the correct spelling for his diploma and make any necessary changes. Sign and return by January 24, 2025.

If your son is interested in taking AP courses next year, watch the pre-session presentation by Colin O’Connor, Assistant Principal for Academics. The presentation will focus on basic information about Jesuit’s advanced courses, the philosophy behind offering these courses, work expectations, and balancing the demands of these courses with co-curricular after-school activities. Hopefully, this information will prove helpful in your son’s decision-making for the 2025-2026 school year courses.
