Jim Donahue is an alum from the class of 1975 at Jesuit High School. He attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating in 1982.  He was admitted to the California Bar in December 1982.  Mr. Donahue was an associate with the law firm of Donahue & Callaham, with an emphasis in professional liability, general personal injury defense, insurance coverage and construction law.  In August 1983, he joined the firm of Bullen, McKone, McKinley, Gay, Keitges & Pach and continued to practice in the areas of motor vehicle, and general insurance defense, with an added emphasis in professional liability.  He also holds a Master of Laws Degree in Taxation, which has been beneficial in handling professional liability matters involving lawyers, accountants, and real estate agents and brokers. Mr. Donahue has continued to emphasize his practice in the areas of commercial, construction, premises liability, motor vehicle, mold litigation, and professional liability insurance defense.  He also handles matters involving insurance coverage and declaratory relief, and maintains an active trial practice.  Mr. Donahue regularly participates in seminars on behalf of various clients on topics including liability claims handling, mold litigation, medical cost containment, professional risk management, and case law reviews.  Mr. Donahue serves as an arbitrator and mediator in Sacramento, Solano and El Dorado Counties.  He also serves as a settlement conference Judge Pro Tem in Sacramento and El Dorado Counties.  He is a member of the Northern California Association of Defense Counsel, and was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of the Association.  Mr. Donahue has been an active member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) since 1999.

Jim’s son, Scott, graduated from Jesuit in 2007.
