Michael Wood ’99
Principal

Michael Wood is the principal at Jesuit High School. He began his career in Jesuit Secondary Education at Loyola High School in Los Angeles where he spent 12 years as a Theology teacher and Dean of Students.

Michael graduated from Jesuit in 1999 and he shared his motivation for accepting for the position as Jesuit’s principal noting that “It is an honor to return to my alma mater as a leader and colleague to share my strengths, experiences, and passion with the Jesuit ministry of my origin.”

Community Period

Sports Rally – Barry Gym (mandatory for all classes)

We will hold our Sports Rally during Community Period on Tuesday, February 25. At this time, we will celebrate our athletes and academic teams, and cheer on the competitors in the intramural finals and the teacher vs. student basketball game. Please plan for this mandatory community period event which will finish between 2:30 and 2:45 pm.

On Friday morning, March 7, from 8:30-9:30am in the Barry Gym’s Welcome Center, we are hosting our Junior Parent Coffee with Counselors. The Counseling Department is excited to present information to help prepare you and your student for his senior year. Bonus – all who attend will also receive a printed copy of the College Planning Handbook.

Jesuit High School Announces Addition of Mandarin Chinese to World Language Offerings

Jesuit High School is excited to announce the addition of Mandarin Chinese to our World Language curriculum. Beginning in fall 2025, Freshman students will have the opportunity to study one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, gaining valuable linguistic and cultural insights that will prepare them for an increasingly global society.
