Sara Alvarez
Counselor
This is my fourth year here at Jesuit and I’m so happy to be a part of this wonderful school. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri where I was an elementary school teacher. I moved to California about 10 years ago and really enjoy it. I’ve known since I was in elementary school that I wanted to work in Education. I was the Administrative Assistant in Counseling here at Jesuit for 3 years and decided to go back to school for my Masters in Educational Counseling. My husband is an alum of JHS and always speaks so highly of it.

In the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis, caring for the whole person, the Counseling Department at Jesuit High School has grown to include a Wellness Counselor on campus.
Katrina Fox
Wellness Counselor
I am grateful to have joined the Jesuit community as a Wellness Counselor. This marks my 10th school year working with high school students as a counselor. Prior to coming to Jesuit, I worked as a school counselor at a co-ed Catholic High School in Mt. View and then St. Francis High School after moving back to Sacramento. Catholic education is near and dear to my heart, and I have personally witnessed the positive impact of a Jesuit education. Both of my brothers graduated from Jesuit High School, and I am an alumna of St. Francis High School, Sacramento.

I am so excited to be here at Jesuit! I received my degree in Psychology and Child Development from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and I hold a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Health Science. I have taught Health at the high school level. I have loved working in the education field, and I am happy that I can continue to celebrate student successes in a supporting role in the Counseling Department.

This is my thirteenth school year working in the Counseling Department at Jesuit High School and have held the Director of Counseling Services position since 2017. I earned my BA in Liberal Studies from Sacramento State with the intent of teaching in the elementary schools. Many years later, I found a home among the wonderful faculty and staff at Jesuit and was inspired to go back to school for my Masters in Educational Counseling. I absolutely love working at Jesuit and being a part of this school community. I am truly fortunate to be able to continue working with students in this role and look forward to an exciting year.
