VPA - Film

Includes a first-year course in “Art of Film,” which is designed to give the student a basic “cine-literacy.” Students explore the major language systems and spectrum of techniques used by filmmakers in conveying meaning, all the while viewing, analyzing, critiquing, and appreciating several major films of the twentieth and twenty-first century.

Periodically, a class will be offered for video creation—allowing students to understand the process (and effort) that goes into any production.
