Sport Conditioning Camp

Multi-Week Camps
Boys Sports and Conditioning (gr 7-10) – 4 weeks

Boys Camp Marauder (gr 5-8) – 2 week
- Session 1: June 16 - 27, 8:30a - 2:30p + optional extension to make a full day

- $100 registration + $600 tuition (1 session) or $1100 tuition (both sessions)
Two sessions with different classes so you can combine both for a 4-week camp! Camp Marauder Jr camp for grades 5-6 and Camp Marauder for grades 7-8. Each session is a fun two weeks filled with STEM, art, sports, and pool time. Co-ed Robotics Engineering (gr 6-9) – 8 days

STEM. Unleash your child’s curiosity in our robotics course personally taught by the World Champions Jesuit Robotics and Saint Francis Robotics members! In this introductory course, students develop a fundamental understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles, applying what they learn through the creation of their own autonomous robot. This dynamic, collaborative experience encourages self-discovery, fostering understanding through teamwork and mentor guidance. By the course’s end, your child will not only gain a fundamental knowledge of robotics, but also take home their personally created robot!
This course will be taught by members from the nationally ranked St. Francis & Jesuit Robotics teams (with full adult supervision.)
Drama Camp (Middle School)

Jesuit High School’s summer theater camp is designed to bring a fun-filled musical theater experience to your summer, ending with an exciting showcase at the end of camp in Jesuit High School’s Black Box Theater! Students will learn skills like voice, movement, improv, and much more! No previous experience necessary. All are welcome!
Instructor: Tracey Freeman-Shaw
Tracey has worked for the past 20 years as a professional musical theater artist, choreographer, and dance educator all over the USA! She is originally from Sacramento where she graduated from Sacramento State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater & Dance. Apart from the 46 professional musical theater shows that she has performed in, Tracey was on the National tour of Evita and Jingle Bell Rock: A Rockin’ Christmas Revue. She has been working enthusiastically in Northern California school districts for the past 3 years, teaching students how to fall in love with movement, dance, and theater. Tracey also works for the Walt Disney Company in the Imagination Campus at Disneyland as a dance educator, where she teaches the important qualities of storytelling and performance through movement. She recently choreographed Jesuit Drama’s production of Mary Poppins Jr.!

STEM. An Echelon Catapult camp. Have you ever wondered what makes you sweat, why exercising makes you stronger, or how your immune system fights off disease? Answer these questions and many more in Echelon Catapult’s Anatomy and Physiology! In this engaging and interactive course, students will first explore major concepts in physiology, such as biological hierarchy, homeostasis, and cell specialization. The students will then investigate each of the major human body systems and create presentations about diseases in each of these systems. By the end of the course, students will confidently identify major systems and organs, explain numerous physiological functions, and, most importantly, have a blast learning about the human body!

ART. Get a taste of what many high school art programs will teach! We will go over a rich variety of mediums, introducing a new one each day with an accompanying small project. This includes treading water(egg beater) passing, shooting and positions played in the sport as well as an introduction to tactics applied in game and learning the game in general. ART. Start taking the best possible photos on your mobile devices by learning how to see the world around you as a photographer does. You will learn how to search out the best lighting and subjects for your photos and create narratives within your frame. This digital course will cover the rules of composition, mobile editing, and how to best showcase your finished product. This course will prove that photography is not always about having the fanciest equipment, but about having the best technique. Tech requirements for photos: mobile device or tablet that can take photos and also download the free Adobe Lightroom app.

STEM. An Echelon Catapult camp.The human brain is one of the most complex and fascinating organs in the body. In Echelon Catapult’s Psychology and Neuroscience, students will explore the beautiful complexities of the mind on the cellular, anatomical, and behavioral level. Through a series of interactive lectures and activities, students will first learn about neurons, the cells that make up our beautiful brains. Then instructors will guide students through case studies and a human brain design project as they learn about the different parts of the brain, and how the neurons function. Next, students will discover the intricacies of human behavior as they learn about the fundamental theories of psychology and apply them to social interaction, emotion, and behavior through fun, engaging activities.

Students in grades 6-8 will learn the basics of Dungeons & Dragons, including how to create unique characters, craft engaging backstories, and explore the game’s mechanics like role-playing, skill checks, and combat. Participants will design their character’s appearance using tools like Hero Forge and bring them to life in epic adventures. Each day, students will practice teamwork, problem-solving, and storytelling, culminating in an epic finale where their imaginations take center stage. No prior experience is needed—just a sense of adventure!

STEM. An Echelon Catapult camp. Have you ever thought about the math behind shooting a basketball, throwing a football, or how fast you have to run to jump across a creek and land on the other side? If so, explore the wonders of speed, acceleration, and displacement in this engaging weeklong class for middle schoolers! In this course, students will be taught the scientific skills used to answer these questions through videos, lectures, and fun, interactive labs. From roller coaster marbles to egg-drop experiments, this course aims to immerse you in the world of physics! By the end of “Mechanics of Motion”, students will have been immersed in the exciting topics of kinematics, dynamics, and mechanics.

ARTS. Do you love Dungeons & Dragons and want to take your game to the next level? In this 4-day, hands-on camp, you’ll learn how to become a Dungeon Master! You’ll create your own adventure, design memorable NPCs and monsters, and master the art of storytelling, improvisation, and running epic battles. Each day will focus on different DM skills, from world-building to combat mechanics, leading up to the final session where you’ll run your own mini-adventure for your fellow players. Whether you want to craft thrilling quests or bring legendary villains to life, this camp will give you the confidence and tools to lead your own D&D games!

ARTS. Comics have the power to bring people together through the beautiful images that are used to convey captivating stories. In this camp, 5th-8th graders will explore several stories told through the comic form, and students will also create their own comics. ARTS. In this enrichment course, students will learn the basics of the art of crocheting. Students will learn about the history of crocheting, and will master the basic single and double-crochet stitch to create scarves, hats, and more!

ARTS. Customization of the wardrobe gives your personality and style a new voice! Aiming to take the basics of painting into the world of fashion, students will learn all the skills needed to customize their first piece of clothing. We will start with painting basics, learn about the idea/design conception process, and finish the week fully customizing our selected piece. From anime character to intricate flower, if you’ve ever thought your wardrobe needed something more, this is the place to start!
Each student will need to bring:
1. A plastic container for a painting water bowl
2. A pair of canvas shoes (converse, vans, toms, etc.) or denim top/bottom (jackets, jeans, shorts, etc.) to customize in this class (cotton material items – ie: shirts, sweatshirts, etc. WILL NOT work for this class).
Take home: canvas pouch, pencil/eraser, brush set, paint pots, clips/boards, and all original work

In Echelon Catapult’s fun and interactive class, students will dive into the captivating world of chemistry and discover the wonders of matter and its properties through exciting experiments, hands-on activities, and interactive demonstrations. From building molecules to conducting labs, this course offers a unique opportunity for kids to learn about the science that surrounds us in a fun, simple, and engaging way. We will explore a range of topics such as the states of matter, chemical and physical reactions, drawing molecular structures, and more! By the end of this course, students will have discovered how much chemistry truly impacts our everyday lives and uncovered the mysteries of the elements that make up the universe!

ARTS. This camp differs from the photography camps because its primary focus is photo editing. Photoshop camp will cover how to edit photos in Lightroom such as adjusting color, brightness etc, and it will also teach your camper how to Photoshop photos they will take throughout the week. At the end of camp they will be able to remove objects out of a photo, edit colors, and even make collages or ads of toys they will bring into class!

In this enrichment course, students will build on the foundations of Crochet 101 by learning more advanced stitches, how to create granny squares, the art of amigurumi, and tackling larger projects. This course is designed for students who can already crochet comfortably with single and double crochet stitches, and who are eager to expand their skills into more intricate and creative designs!
Co-ed Japanese Manga and Anime Drawing Camp (gr 6-8) – 1 week

ARTS. Japanese manga dates back to the late 1700’s, yet today both manga and anime are multi-million dollar industries in the US alone! In this camp, students will look at the cultural history of manga/anime in Japan, learn popular mangaka (Japanese manga artist) styles alongside general drawing instruction, review common story building devices, and finish the week creating our own unique manga page combining all of the skills learned throughout the week. As we draw, anime adaptations of popular manga will play in the background to create a truly immersive manga/anime experience!- take home: art bag, pen sets, pencils/erasers, and all original work.
